Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became morning news anchor on WCBD TV and acted as a crime reporter. The stories she reported in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police regarding DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. It led to state authorities issuing more strict rules in these instances. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. Following her stint in Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative reporter. She then was hired by Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. In addition to her current role as anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell also contributes to NBC News' Today and also contributes to Dateline NBC. The anchor has hosted a number of pre-show arrivals to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She also hosted Miss USA's pageant, as and the Miss Universe Pageant.
